Recently I watched video on YouTube that made me do this kind of post.
Recently I watched this video posted by Pixiwoo and almost poke my eyes out :O
In my humble opinion this is not the way to clean your brushes, not to say to clean them properly. That thing that she did is a piece of bullshit. I'm shocked and revolted that one make up artist calls this brush cleaning.
I don't know. Call me crazy but I really think that you need to give your brushes proper wash and scrub to clean them all the way through.
Don't know about you but here is my cleaning routine.
First of all I soak them in warm water and baby shampoo for few minutes, throw water and repeating the process.
After that I use soap and cloth/towel to wash it thoroughly. First I give them a soap rub and then the same thing but on a cloth/towel.
It is very similar to this sigma cleaning glove but not as fancy.
After that I rinse them well, strain as much possible but not to destroy them (you know what I mean right?) :)
And finally drying time.
I don't know are my methods right or even rough, but after I wash them like this, one thing that I know for sure that these brushes are clean!
I ran across this picture, and I must say that most of this is stupidity. Who on earth would put brushes in washing machine or even clean them with vacuum cleaner. C'mon are you serious?!?!
But washing them in warm/hot water and soaking them, I'll continue doing.
To conclude this topic, I don't have any expensive brushes, but I don't think that my methods are wrong or rough enough to damage brushes. I haven't throw any of them yet except sponges, but that is because different reasons.
I also use disinfectant spray such as Octenisept when they are dry just to be safe there is no bacteria :D
And every now and then I soak my sponges in medical alcohol to kill everything inside of them.
What do you have to say about all of this? How do you clean our brushes? Any tips or tricks?
Thanks for reading :)
